Please sponsor Jill and Peter’s Sponsored Walk across Jordan to raise £5000 for Seventy4.
Donate £5 or whatever you can!

Seventy4 is currently raising money to develop a specialist eating disorder service. The funds will be used to run the service and allow clients to access help on a low fee. Over the next two years, we are hoping to achieve financial self-sufficiency with client income, but it always takes at least two years to develop any new clinical service.

The service is outpatient based and combines group work and individual counselling. It will offer help for people suffering from a range of eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa and bulimia, as well as binge-eaters and over-eaters.

Despite the fact that the UK has a serious problem with eating disorders, which puts pressure on the individual, the family and society as a whole (because of visits to the General Practitioners, the NHS, etc), there is very little help available in London. The main provision is within the NHS on an inpatient basis, for clients at the severe end of the eating disorder spectrum (under 6 stone). The other alternative is expensive residential treatment, which can be between £2,000-£5,000 per week.

Jill Davidson, Seventy4’s CEO, and Peter Harrison, the accountant, are walking across Jordan for 6 days to raise money for the project. They are paying for themselves, so anything raised goes directly to the charity.

The walk starts in Finan and ends in Petra. Walking time will be between 6-8 hours per day for 6 days. There are no hotels on route, just tents! The terrain of the walk will be testing, incorporating mountainous dirt tracks, canyon paths, Bedouin trails and valley passes.
If you could help our cause, it would be much appreciated. Any amount, however large or small, will be helping someone to change their lives.

If you would like to donate online, please visit www.justgiving.com/twogowild or search for Justgiving, the charity Seventy4 and put in Jill Davidson’s or Peter Harrison’s name.
