If you are reading this you are probably feeling that your life is out-of-control and you
can no longer function properly whilst living with your addiction. Perhaps you do not
understand what is happening to you or how you arrived where you are today?
You may have a drug or alcohol problem, an eating problem, you can't stop gambling or
your sex addiction is making your life unbearable. Perhaps you are living with a mental
health problem and you have used substances for so long, you no longer know what
came first.
If you are over the age of 18, Seventy4 can offer you help.
Seventy4 also understands that different people have different needs. You might be
working and need treatment in the evenings. Maybe you have children and only have
limited time available during the day because of childcare constraints.
Seventy4 has a range of services, both during the day and the evening. A programme
can be tailored for you. This could be either individual or group work counselling, or a
combination of the two.
Similarly, people may be at different stages of overcoming their addictions. Some clients
are still trying to achieve abstinence; others have been in full-time residential treatment
but feel they need additional support after returning home, or perhaps someone is living
with an addict and needs help to understand what this means.
Seventy4 has the expertise and experience to work with clients with different needs and at
all stages of the recovery process.
What does Seventy4 provide?
Seventy4's clinical objective is to help clients to understand their addiction, to overcome it
and lead a more meaningful and fulfilled life. There are various approaches to achieving
these goals, according to the particular programme that a client enters.
Clinical programmes are delivered by highly experienced and qualified counsellors/
psychotherapists in the addiction and mental health fields. Seventy4's clinical team
understand how much courage it takes for a client to seek help with their addiction
and the enormous struggle that anyone has to go through to change their lives. Their
approach will be supportive and caring but will also challenge the behaviour associated
with using at the same time.
Seventy4 is a member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
and adheres to their principles of clinical practice.
Seventy4's counsellors/psychotherapists have an excellent reputation for working well
with female as well as male clients. Women are very often underrepresented in addiction
treatment, but because of the expertise and sensitive approach of the clinical team, and
the established experience of the charity, Seventy4 attracts a larger than average number
of female clients (around 45% of overall client numbers).
Seventy4 offers a range of clinical programmes to suit a client's particular needs:
